Kimball Jones' Obituary
Kimball Irwin Jones, of Huntersville, North Carolina, died on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at home. He was born on March 16, 1952, to the late Richard M. Jones and Marilyn Jean (Irwin) Jones, in Jamestown, New York.
Kimball graduated from The William Hood Dunwoody Industrial Insititute in Minnesota and Jamestown High School. In his late 40s, attended Jamestown Community College and SUNY Fredonia, where he earned a degree in Education, and attended SUNY Buffalo State for graduate work. He met his current wife, Nancy Clarke of Dunkirk, NY, when he attended SUNY Fredonia. Kimball always had a desire to move to North Carolina and they did – where they had a wonderful life together for 20 years, in Huntersville.
Kimball was associated with the family business, Tasty Baking by Jones, in Jamestown, New York. He also spent many years in the transportation industry and taught middle school social studies in New York and North Carolina. After retiring from trucking, he held a part time warehouse job, which he loved.
Kimball had a wonderful personality and was loved by many. He absolutely adored his children and grandchildren. They brought the most joy to his heart and soul and he was so proud of them and their achievements.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children, Kimberly (Travis) Knight, Sean (Elizabeth) Jones, and Amy Mistretta; siblings, Candy (John) Schupp, Robin (David) Conklin, and Todd Jonsson; grandchildren, Maxwell, Gabriella, Taylor and Camryn Knight; Cyrus Jones, Sage Jones, Alyssa Mistretta, and Anthony Mistretta; great granddaughter, Avrie Mistretta; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his in-laws, Denise (Kenneth) Maze, Melissa (Michael Brizzee) Maze, Diane (Jeff) Novelli, and Andrew Corsoro.
In addition to his parents, Richard M. and Marilyn Jean Jones, he was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Jones; his in-laws, Bruce Clarke and Charlotte (Mayott) Clarke, “Charlie”, who held a very special place in his heart, immediately upon being introduced to her and nephew Gregory Maze. He was also preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Iva (Morrell) Nalbone who remained a part of his and Nancy’s life until her death in 2022.
Memorials can be made to a charity of your choice.
Services will be handled by James Funeral Home, of Huntersville, NC. Visiting hours are Saturday, March 15, 2025, between 1:00 and 3:00 pm. Visiting will also be handled by Lind Funeral Home in Jamestown, NY, at a later date and time.
