Kyle Greene's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Kyle and Sara Greene
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely and tragic death of Kyle and Sara Greene of Fuquay-Varina, NC on May 6, 2025. Their sudden departure has left an immeasurable void in the lives of their family, friends, and all who knew them.
Kyle, 32 and Sara 33 were partners in life and in love, building a future together rooted in devotion to one another and to their beloved child, Tucker, who miraculously survived the tragic incident. Their deep bond, laughter, and kindness touched countless lives and left lasting impressions on everyone who had the privilege of knowing them.
In addition to Tucker, they are survived by Kyle’s parents, Kevin and Chery Greene; Kyle’s sister, Kasey and her fiancé, Trey Edwards; his grandmother, Patrica Shively and grandparents Charles and Janeta Mattera. Sara is survived by her mother, Kathryn Englehart; her father Daniel Englehart and his wife Maureen; her grandparents, Don and Betty King, Joan Englehart, and Denni Englehart. They are both also survived by many friends, neighbors and extended family members. Their legacy will live on through the love they shared, the memories they created, and the strength of their child.
Kyle, a native of Avery County, North Carolina, graduated from NC State in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering. After several years of gaining experience in his field, he recently started his own business, Greene Stormwater Group. Kyle had the most infectious smile, was always happy and lit up the room when he entered. He was a “cool nerd” because he was so funny, always the life of the party -- the first on the dance floor and keeping everyone laughing -- yet was also passionate about learning, reading and entrepreneurship.
Sara was born in Michigan, but found her home in North Carolina, where she had moved for college and grad school at NC State, finishing in 2015 with a Master of Science in Textile and Apparel Technology and Management. After graduating, she worked at Spoonflower before accepting a position as Lead Product Manager at LTK, a software company. She enjoyed dancing, crafts, practicing and teaching yoga, and was a coffee and doughnut connoisseur. Like Kyle, she always had a smile on her face.
Together, Kyle and Sara were constantly on the move. They enjoyed traveling, snowboarding, sightseeing, spending time with friends and family. During their short time on earth, they lived their lives fully and with intention.
Both Kyle and Sara were exceptional parents to Tucker and enjoyed every single moment with him. From the time he was born, Tucker was the apple of their eyes. Once Tucker arrived two years ago, Kyle and Sara continued their regular adventures and travels as a party of three, creating the start of a wonderful life for their son.
They will be forever remembered for their warmth, their laughter, and the deep devotion they had for one another, their son, and everyone they met along the way.
