Larry "Lanny" Boyles' Obituary
Larry “Lanny” Arlanda Boyles, 78, of North Chesterfield, VA passed away on July 6, 2023 at Ginter Hall South Assisted Living in North Chesterfield.
He was born on May 1, 1945 in Charlotte, NC and was the son of the late Buford and Sarah Mauldin Boyles. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, June Corley Boyles. He was a 1963 graduate of North Mecklenburg High School and retired from the Charlotte Water Department with almost 40 years of service; enjoyed playing golf, especially with his brother Donnie; Loved baseball and college basketball; was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Huntersville, NC. Lanny was a kind soul that never met a stranger and loved his family fiercely. Being a “Paw Paw” and visits to Myrtle Beach brought him happiness.
He is survived by his daughter, Becky Boyles of Powhatan, VA and her son John Simpson; two brothers and two sisters, James Donald Boyles and wife June of Charlotte; Sue Jenkins and husband Dean of Clover, SC; Paula Graham and husband Ed of Kannapolis, and Terry Boyles, also from Kannapolis.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 12:00 PM, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Huntersville. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the church.
