This is Little Larry, Larry’s brother. I remember the day Larry came into my life. Being that he is my half Brother, I never knew him until I was around eight or nine. We picked him at the Gray Hound bus depot. I remember walking around telling everyone I saw that this is my big Brother.
We lived in the mountains and non of got to town much. The one time that Larry had a date, I wanted to go too. NO WAY he said. So, I put a jar of carpenter ants in his bed for not taking me along. Think I won that little tiff.
When he joined the navy, I was allowed to go out on an excursion cruise aboard his ship. Larry was in DAMAGE CONTROL. While doing a demonstration on.... DAMAGE CONTROL, his little boat started sinking. He had to be rescued.
Being in the mountains, we lived a long way from the school bus stop. Larry didn’t have his driver license yet but Dad let him drive the dirt road to the bus stop then come straight home. I noticed that when he had to turn the car around to go home, he would drive a little further down the blacktop road hatch time to turn the car around. Sometimes he drove out of sight. He would always say, I HAD TO TURN THE CAR AROUND.
I love you my Brother, will miss you and think about all the good times we had. Was never a dull moment.
Rest easy now Larry, watch for me. I will be the one with the jar.
