Larry Holtzclaw's Obituary
Homer Larry Holtzclaw, 71 of Huntersville and New Bern, died September 25, 2014. He was born on March 20, 1943 in Mecklenburg County to the late Homer and Sadie Moore Holtzclaw. Larry was retired from the Charlotte Fire Department and retired manager of the New Bern KOA Campground.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Holtzclaw; sons, Mark and fiancé Denise Gonyea of Charlotte and Scooter and wife Sherri of Myrtle Beach; daughter, Debbie Fulghum and husband Jack of Huntersville; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The KOA Care Camps. Helping to raise funds to send a cancer stricken child to camp for a week has been a passion of his while working with KOA Campgrounds. www.koacarecamps.org Donations can be made by phone with credit card at 252-638-2556. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 29 at Independence Hill Baptist Church (Worship Center) in Huntersville with Rev. Todd Marlin and George W. McCullough, III officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will follow at the church.
