Larry Gene Webb's Obituary
Mr. Larry Gene Webb, 54, of Mooresville NC passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026.
Larry was born and raised in Charlotte NC. It was here that he found his passion for working in the trucking industry. He started his career at Dixie Freightliner (later renamed Freightliner of Charlotte) where he spent 13 years learning the trade of servicing and repairing diesel engines. He referred to this as the “Freightliner days” where he would share stories of coworkers who became lifelong friends. After leaving Freightliner he briefly worked at West Carolina Freightliner in Hickory NC, and FleetNet in Cherryville, NC before accepting a job at Cummins Inc. in Charlotte, NC where he spent 19 years as a Service Administrator. Larry was an ordained deacon and spent several years teaching children’s Sunday school, coaching his son’s baseball team and volunteering countless hours serving the community. He was a proud father and loving husband. He cared about everyone and never missed an opportunity to give or receive a hug. He was an avid Carolina Beach music fan with The Tonez being his favorite band.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Jean Webb, and a brother Scott Webb.
