Laura Stroupe's Obituary
Laura Ann McConnell Stroupe, 97, of Huntersville passed away April 17, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 2,1926 and is the daughter of the late Floyd and Ola McConnell.
She lived in the Long Creek Community, graduated from Long Creek High School and Carolina Business School. Laura retired from Martin Marietta Aggregates in Charlotte.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edward W. Stroupe who she has dearly missed since 1995, her brother Bill McConnell in 2004 , her sister Mildred Beard in 2017. Laura is survived by her children David (Donna), Amy (Mark); grandchildren Justin (Kristen), Adam (Hillary), John (Courtney), Kevin (Sydney), great-grandson Hayden, sister-in-law Billie McConnell.
Laura was a lifelong member at Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church. She served her Lord and Savior in many capacities of church work but mostly by living a Godly life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. She often shared memories of the past with much detail and could still recite scriptures and recall catechism questions/answers. Her influence will live on in many of us as she resides in her heavenly home.
The service will be held Sunday April 21, 3pm at Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church with a burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be in the fellowship hall following the service.
