Lawrence Reilly's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Lawrence (Larry) Lee Reilly, announces his passing on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the age of 80.
Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Elaine Marie (Sasfai) Reilly and his daughter, Sandi Marie Sumas and her husband, Mike, along with many friends. Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Joelle Reilly and brothers, John and Eddie Reilly.
Born in Pennsylvania, June 28, 1937, to the late John and Flo Reilly, Larry attended Penn State and enlisted in the Navy in 1958. Leaving for duty at a small airport in PA is where he met his beautiful bride, Elaine and their love story began.
Larry and Elaine married December 20, 1961, and purchased their first home in Reading, PA and started their family. After several moves across the US, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, they made their final move in 2007 to North Carolina to be with Sandi and Mike.
Larry enjoyed spending time attending and watching football, especially Penn State and The Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved traveling and cruises, but more, he loved his family and they loved him and he will be missed each day.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 4, 2018 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church 8600 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd, Huntersville. His Funeral Service will be at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 4th at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with The Reverend Sally Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Ron Sasfai, Larry Sasfai, Mike Sumas, Alan Steele, Aaron Cassaberry and Johnny Walker.
