Lawrence Wachter's Obituary
Lawrence “Larry” Andrew Wachter, 82, of Sherrill’s Ford, NC passed away very unexpectedly on Sunday, December 5, 2021. He was born on June 26, 1939 in Rutherfordton, NC to the late John and Margaret Wachter.
Larry graduated from Greensboro Senior High in 1958 and received an Associate Degree from Lenoir-Rhyne in 1960. Following high school, Larry served 6 years in the National Guard. He had a long career at Kraft Foods that spanned more than 29 years.
Always an avid sports fan, Larry coached over 20 years for Pop Warner Sport Leagues. The positive impact he had on his players was cemented for a lifetime for so many of them.
He always had a caring personality that was a great blessing to his family and friends. He loved to share memories, lessons and experiences with those closest to him.
Survivors include his wife Brenda Wachter, sons, Christopher Wachter and wife, Maria; Andrew Wachter; daughter, Andrea Leigh Setzer; step-son, Jonathan Flatt and wife, Allysa; siblings, Michael and wife Pat Wachter, Peter Wachter, Teresa O’Dell and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Devan and Milania Wachter, Cameron Flatt.
Larry was a loving husband, father, granddad, sibling, friend who will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege to be a part of his life.
Celebration of Life is being planned for the beginning of the new year.
