Linda Brown's Obituary
Linda Griffis Brown, 81, of Charlotte died August 28, 2022. She was born on June 27, 1941 in Mecklenburg County to Calvin Griffis (of Bennettsville, SC). She was raised by her grandparents, Charles E. and Leila McGee Griffis of Charlotte. She worked for 21 years for Thurston Motor Lines then the Northside Baptist Daycare for 12 years as well as Pathway Preschool for 9 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church from 1946-88 and then Oak Grove U.M.C. from 1989 until her death.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Fred A. Brown. Survivors include her sister, Brenda Griffis Burr and husband Wilson; sisters-in-law Kay Brown and Linda Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Greg Ritch, a special companion in her later years.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, September 2 at James Funeral Home. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior. Burial will be private at Sharon Memorial Park.
