Linda Lou Wick's Obituary
Linda Sokolis Wick, 80 of Mooresville died December 26, 2019 and went to be with her Lord and Savior . She was born on September 29, 1939 in Santa Rosa, CA to the late Edward and Beverly Sokolis.
She was a graduate of the California School for the Deaf in Berkeley and a graduate of Gallaudet University where she met her husband. After graduation she lived for 6 years in Toronto, Canada before moving back to the United States and eventually working at Gallaudet University as a Library Technician. After her husband’s retirement they moved to settle in North Carolina. She had a profound interest in gardening and nourishing wild birds in their clusters of gardens.
Survivors include her mother Beverly, her husband of 56 years, Marshall; daughters Susan Turner (Greg) of Charlotte and Bonnie Bellassai (Ben) of Mooresville and son, Ted of Mooresville; grandchildren, Emily, Bethany, Ben, Matt, Kyle, Maegan, Alexis, Marissa, Teddy, and Katie; great-grandson, Ben, Jr.; sister, Lorraine Floreen; brother, Michael Sokolis both of California. Her brother Denny preceded her in death.
A funeral mass will be held at 2 PM Monday, December 30, 2019 at St. Mark Catholic Church with Burial following at Northlake Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 12-1:30 prior at James Funeral Home.
