Lisa Eileen Smith's Obituary
Lisa Eileen Smith, 59, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on May 2, 2024 while under hospice care.
She was born on August 6, 1964, in Perrysburg, OH, the daughter of Robert Lee Smith and Thelma Eileen (Partee) Smith.
Lisa graduated with a B.S. in English Education from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH. She was awarded an M.A. in English, Technical Writing, from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH. She worked at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in assessments and accreditation, as an instructor of technical communications and as a government documents librarian. She worked at Davidson College, Davidson, NC, in Information Technology Services, as an assistant to the director of the library and as a coordinator of student computing services.
Lisa married Moutaz Khouja, the love of her life, on November 18, 1989. She was the best of neighbors and collected and kept lifelong friends. She enjoyed entertaining, singing with the Choral Arts Society of Davidson, and taking long walks. She was devoted to her beloved cats and all animal causes.
Lisa is survived by her husband, her father and brother, Philip (Karen) Smith, of Perrysburg, OH, and her niece, Catherine Hann (James Quaintance), of Cincinnati, OH. She was preceded in death by her mother and her brother, Gregory Smith.
A celebration of life will be held later this summer.
