Lola Woods Albright's Obituary
Lola Lorraine Albright, of Cornelius, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017. She was 87 years old.
Mrs. Albright was born in El Paso TX on March 11, 1930 and spent much of her life in San Antonio, TX. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University and then moved to CA where she raised her family. She moved to the southeast to be near her youngest grandchildren, finally settling in Cornelius, NC ten years ago. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Whittier, CA. She was also a bookkeeper and office manager for a CA furniture company. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a dear friend to all who knew her, always ready with a bright smile, encouraging word, and compassionate listening ear. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister, her husband of 52 years, Merle K. Albright, and her granddaughter, Jocelyn Albright Desmond. She was also preceded in death by her special friend, Ernie Gunderman.
Mrs. Albright is survived by her children, Richard Gregg Albright (Anne) of San Luis Obispo, CA, Dr. Lysha Albright Ngissah (Kwesi) of Cornelius and Berekuso, Ghana, and Jaletta Albright Desmond (Alan) of Davidson and Winston-Salem, her grandchildren: Megan Plamondon (Scott) of Woodland, CA, Kristen Borland (Mike) of Atascadero, CA and Julia Albright Desmond of Davidson and Winston-Salem, and her great-grandchildren: Alex and Owen Plamondon, Zeb, Nehemiah, Lola, Gracie and Boaz Borland. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews across the country.
Mrs. Albright’s family would like to thank the loving care takers and staff at Ranson Ridge Assisted Living Home and Hospice and Palliative Care of Lake Norman.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, July 21st at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at James Funeral Home of Huntersville with a reception following directly after in the community room.
