Lorraine Ingraham Colpitts' Obituary
On Monday, January 16, 2023, Lorraine Colpitts passed away peacefully at her home at The Pines in Davidson, North Carolina. She was 99 years old.
Lorraine Fyfe Ingraham was born on Oct 23, 1923, in North Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, to Marguerite Cann and Lorne Ingraham, and she married Reverend Hank Colpitts in 1943. Lorraine and Hank raised their twin sons in Canada, Maine, and New Jersey before moving to Staten Island in 1969.
Lorraine worked as a registered nurse in public schools in both New Jersey and New York City. After moving to Manhattan and retiring in 1985, she spent her time volunteering with the Central Park Conservatory. She loved exploring museums and Central Park with her grandchildren.
She later moved to Tinton Falls, New Jersey, and then to Davidson, North Carolina, to be closer to family. Lorraine has been a resident of The Pines since 2011.
Lorraine is survived by her sons and their spouses, Jon and Jeanne, David and Julie; her granddaughters and their spouses, Kate and Dustin, Megan and Luis; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hank; and her sister, Nadine.
The family will be having a private service at a later date.
