Penny Davis, Joan and Family,
I am so sorry that you have lost your precious Mother. She was my special Carolina Shoe friend. I appreciate your phone call to let me know of this sad news. I treasure many special memories of our working years at the shoe factory. Your mom did top quality work and was a very dedicated employee. She had great respect for Mr. Otto Woerner, her supervisor, Shirley Patton and all of her co-workers. She showed up for work every day unless she had asked for a day off. She did a great service for the company she worked for, Carolina Shoe Company.
Louise and I enjoyed having lunch together almost every day. We enjoyed sharing secrets with each other. Your mom could bake the best pound cake of anyone I know and she was glad to share. You already know that she was very proud and thankful for her loving family. I know you feel a great loss, there is no other person in the world more special than our mothers. I lost my mom in 2009, I still miss her every day. We can rejoice that we have a promise from our Heavenly Father that we will see our precious loved-ones again one glorious day. Your mother had a great faith and spoke often of her church. How blessed you were to have a very loving mother. I was blessed to call her my special friend. I will miss her too! I send my love, sympathy, prayers and caring thought. May God comfort you in the days, weeks, months and years ahead. We know your mother is at Peace!
