Luigi Gambino's Obituary
The family of Luigi Gambino, 82, of Huntersville, NC, is deeply saddened to announce his passing on February 8, 2023. He was born on February 18, 1940 in Caccamo, Sicily to the late Giovanni and Concetta Gambino.
Luigi was exceptional at many things in life. He was an expert tailor, business owner, billiards player, dancer, comedian and storyteller. Even more, he was an extraordinary husband, father, brother and son. Luigi was devoted to his family throughout his life, including as a young son and brother in Sicily, and as a husband and father on Long Island. In all that he did, however, Luigi was an entertainer. No matter where he was, Luigi was giving a memorable performance for the amusement and joy of whoever happened to be his audience. From his friends and family to a clerk in a store, Luigi brought laughter and smiles. Everyone knew when Luigi was in the room.
Luigi will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his sons, John (wife Tammy) of Huntersville, NC, Joseph (wife Erica) of Greenville, SC, and Louis (wife Eunice) of Clifton Park, NY; siblings, Vincent Gambino and Nina Padovani; and grandchildren, John, Hannah, Luke, Louis, Sophia, George, Olivia, Joseph and Stella. His wife, Pietra, preceded him in death after 51 years of loving marriage.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church.
