Luisa Ferguson's Obituary
Luisa Milo Ferguson, 61 of Charlotte passed away at home on June 15, surrounded by her loving family, after a two year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was born in the Bronx, NY to Catherine Milo and the late Salvatore Milo, on February 26, 1956. Luisa was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
Luisa was dedicated to her family. She was most fulfilled when she was taking care of her parents, children and doting on her grandchildren. Family holidays were what she did best, although she’d take any excuse to entertain and have a gathering. Luisa loved Jesus and her faith was a shining part of her daily walk. For fun she loved to be near the water: she enjoyed swimming, taking trips to the beach, mountains and picnicking at area lakes.
In addition to her mother, survivors include daughters, Daniella Hemphill and husband Frederick of Waxhaw and Tiffany Petersen and husband Todd of Indian Trail; son Adam Ferguson and wife Holly of Charlotte; sister, Kathy Lake and husband Russ of Cave Creek, AZ; grandchildren, Cole, Aizley, Evan, Aaron, Christian and Xander; and nephew Blaine.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, June 19, at James Funeral Home, Huntersville with burial following at Northlake Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM prior.
The family wishes to give special thanks and gratitude to Dr. Hwang, Ebony Shears and staff at Levine Cancer Institute, Dr. Vrochides and the HPB team at Carolinas Medical Center and Brittany Horne and staff at Hospice & Palliative Care of Charlotte.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Charlotte, 1420 E 7th St Charlotte, NC 28204 or the Pancreatic Cancer Foundation via pancan.org.
