Lydia Hanlin's Obituary
Lyidai Hanlin, born July 22, 1936, in Abington Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on June 5, 2025, in Cornelius, North Carolina. Lydia was the beloved daughter of the late Paul and Josephine Robinson.
Lydia’s life was marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family and friends.
Lydia is survived by her brother Larry Robinson, Daughters Lori (Hanlin) Pelham, Lisa Hanlin, Son-in-law Randy Pelham, grandchildren Jon Pelham, Gianna Pelham, Erin (Pelham) Leplatt, Ashley (Pelham) Cavalier and great Grandchildren Kerrington, Addison and Kennedy Cavalier, and Niece Dorothy Hooper and Nephew’s Michael and Larry Robinson.
After graduating from High School, Lydia attended the University of Virginia where she earned her Registered Nurse Certification. Lydia served her profession and community as a nurse at Cape Canaveral Space Center, Broward County Correctional Center, and Florida Prison Health Services. Through her career Lydia developed many close and valued friendships including Gordon Stein.
Outside of nursing, Lydia found joy in church and music. Lydia was an accomplished pianist and was known for her church performances. Those who knew Lydia remember her for his infectious smile, laughter, and her deep-rooted faith in Jesus. Her grandchildren will always remember her greeting, “Hello Darlings.”
Mom, Grandma, Sis and Aunt, we miss you terribly but we rejoice that you are no longer suffering and know that you are walking on streets of gold.
