Lyle Mark Daugherty's Obituary
Lyle Mark Daugherty, 59, of Denver, passed away Friday June 30th, 2023.
Over the course of his life he lived in Paris, KY, Union, KY, Raleigh, NC, Newnan, GA, and finally Denver, NC. Mark was a loving and devoted Son, Husband, Brother, Father, Grandfather, and Friend to anybody that may have needed one. He loved his family more than anything, going above and beyond to take care of them and making certain to leave no doubt of his love for them. His generosity was felt by those who loved him the most as well as complete strangers.
Mark was a proud West Virginia native and earned his Bachelor and Master’s Degrees from West Virginia University. He made an impressive career in the manufacturing industry, serving as President in his last positions and leading his companies through significant change.
He loved cheering WVU & the Steelers on, grilling, traveling, and, although he couldn’t swim, sitting by the pool or in a chair in the sand on the beach. He adored his yorkie Sophie and tolerated (but secretly loved) his grandcat Maybull. Although laid back, he was very particular about some things, including laundry and how to load a dishwasher correctly. If you did either of these things wrong, you would never hear the end of it.
Mark was preceded in death by his loving grandmother Ruby Rice and sister Lisa Wade.
He is survived by his parents Earl and Ruth Ann Daugherty of New Martinsville, WV, his loving wife of 14 years Casey Daugherty, his children; Michelle Jones (Marty) of Georgetown, KY, Anthony (Bethany) Daugherty of Frederick, MD, Alexandra Plunkett of Denver, NC, and Amy Bailey of KY, grandchildren; Levi, Lyla, Lindyn, Anderson, Amelia, and the newest addition to his family, Marie. He is also survived by many friends, aunts and uncles, cousins, and nieces.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be in Mark’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
James Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.jamesfuneralhomelkn.com.
