M. Wayne Taylor's Obituary
HUNTERSVILLE: M. Wayne Taylor of Huntersville passed away at Levine Dickson Hospice House on Friday, October 26 after a long illness. Wayne owned and operated Taylor's Construction for over 39 years. Born in Mecklenburg County, Wayne was predeceased by his father and step-mother Ernest and Manolya Taylor, and mother, Louise Taylor. Wayne served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Penny; son Adam of Huntersville; son Bryan and daughter-in-law Lori of Indian Land, SC, and daughter Amanda of Huntersville; three grandchildren Amina, Yasmine, and Jackson; sister Sylvia Norris, and nephew John of Salt Lake City, Utah; niece Donna of Mooresville, and Krystal of Raleigh.
Wayne's loving character radiated patience and kindness to all who knew him and the community. Loyal, honest and selfless. Wayne's love of baseball extended from his playing days at North Mecklenburg High School to coaching many ball teams for over 20 years including Mallard Creek Colt Baseball, HYAA Baseball, and American Legion Post 321 Baseball. He was certainly a mentor to each player as well as a coach who stressed team play.
A visitation will be held at James Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, October 28 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The family would like to express their appreciation for dedication of the CMC Transplant Team, the caregivers of STICU, MICU, 10 Tower at CMC Main. Also, for the final tender care given by the staff of Levine and Dickson Hospice House.
