An incredible power left this world.

You had so much... So much laughter, humor, friendship, hope, strength and love.
More important, you couldn’t hold on to it. Sharing, helping, giving, loving and always knowing that little thing, whatever it was, that could comfort those around you when they needed it. Your strength could not be measured. When you needed it the most for yourself, you could still provide it to those around you.

A power that will not leave this world.

Although it was 100 years ago in 1922 when Margery Williams wrote this, it seems like she wrote it for you…

"What is REAL?" asked the Rabbit one day, when they were lying side by side near the nursery fender, before Nana came to tidy the room. "Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?"
"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."
"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.
"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt."
"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?"
"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."
…but once you are Real you can't become unreal again. It lasts for always."

Lyn, by countless people, you are REAL and it will last for always.

You have been sorely missed these past 7 years yet your legacy lives on in your family as well as so many others whose lives you touched. You are forever part of our family. I don’t have the words to explain the enormous effect you had/have on my own life.

Bill, thank you for coming into her life and cherishing Lyn so. She deserved this and you provided it well through so much pain in both your lives. Thank you for being her bright spot though it all.

Tom, thank you for so proudly carrying on her legacy. I’m sure she is incredibly proud of the person you have become and the family you have created. Rightly so.

Today I learned of Madelyn leaving us. It was truly a heartbreaker for me. She touched so many lives with her kindness and caring ways including mine. I know she is a true angel and will be missed. Deepest sympathy to all her family. A remarkable person has left this world. Rest in peace sweet lady.

Dear Bill and Family.

We were so saddened to discover that your Lyn has passed away. She and I were very good friends from Saint Killian's Church in Farmingdale, New York.

I had the honor of knowing her Mom, Virginia, who I know bestowed on Lyn the gift of fighting adversity, irregardless of what it was. I also knew Lyn's sons, Thomas (Tommy) and the late Michael McCausland. They were wonderful young children when I met them. Another credit to your Lyn's determination to make the best of everything and everybody.

Lyn was able to spend some time with us here in Ocala a few years ago. She was looking forward to relocating with her Company from Long Island. We knew how much loved you and your family.

As you know, Lyn always made a positive contribution for any cause or person that needed her help.

We want you to know she will be deeply missed by us. Please send our condolences to Tommy and your family members.

We all know that Lyn is in Heaven and enjoying the eternal rewards she so deserved.

Madelyn was my first contact with the Syosset chapter of SPOHNC. I will never forget her kindness and reassurance. She was the first person I had ever met who had a similar cancer and the first person who sounded like me. She made me feel "normal" and safe in her company and ready, for the first time, to share my story. She will be in my prayers.

Lynn was just an amazing woman. Her kindness and caring for people was un matched. Lyn got me through my deepest pain in my life with Love, Friendship, and Compassion. I will always be grateful to her for that!
We lost a special lady. Bill you were a wonderful husband to Lyn and your love for eachother gave me hope that True Love can exsist the second time around. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Dear Bill and family,
My heartfelt condolences go to you for this great loss. Madelyn touched all of us at SPOHNC with her wonderful love and generosity...we loved her as well. She did so much to help raise awareness of the disease we all experienced...her tireless efforts were appreciated by us and we were amazed at how much she gave, always seeming to be unfazed by all of the work needed during the fundraisers. I feel blessed to have known and worked with her.

It was an honor to know Madelyn. She was a big part of the Syosset group when I went to my first meeting we immediately connected. She was a tireless worker and a great supporter of all the members of our group. She did great things with the tasting events. She is surely in Heaven and probably giving some great recommendations to our Lord. I will keep all of you in my prayers. We all know Madelyn is praying from on high for all of us. Rest in Peace my friend.
