Margaret "Julie" Julianne Cassidy's Obituary
Margaret Julianne Cassidy, age 90, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, while in the care of Atrium Health Medical Center, Lake Norman, surrounded by her loving family. Julie was born on May 5, 1936, in Detroit, MI, to James and Agnes (Kergan) Mertaugh. She had been married to James Anthony Cassidy, who passed away on July 17, 2022.
Julie was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, who loved spending time with her family. She was an active parishioner at Saint Mark Roman Catholic Church in Huntersville, where she was a member of The Woman of Joy. She enjoyed shopping and being around other people.
Julie was predeceased by her parents and her husband. Left to cherish her memory are her son Sean Cassidy and his wife Debra, her daughter Susan Weaver and her husband David and her grandchildren, Cade Cassidy, Cole Cassidy and Lisa Ingves.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Saint Mark Roman Catholic Church, 14740 Stumptown Road, Huntersville, NC 28078, on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
