Margaret Nist's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret (Peggy) Nist, 86, of Huntersville, formerly of North Fort Myers Florida, and prior to that of Mars, PA, went to be with the Lord on Saint Patrick's Day.
A devoted wife and mother, she was a devout Catholic and member of the Council of Catholic Women. Peggy ministered to other people in so many ways throughout her life, including comfort blanket ministry, rosary making and home bound visits. She demonstrated Christian living by maintaining her love of life, giving to others and faith in God, despite dealing with a lifetime of intense physical pain.
The pearly gates were painted black and gold for Peggy in honor of her love and passion for her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. A gifted seamstress, she sewed for family and church. She loved poetry, flea markets, and a shot & a beer.
Mrs. Nist is survived by her husband, Roy, of 66 years, their children; Barbara Misner (John) of Denver, NC, Thomas Nist (Nadine) of Huntersville, NC, and Kathleen Price (Jon) of Cary, NC, grandchildren; Brian Misner, Chelsea Nist, Carmen Price, Loren Price, Jessie Bullock; brother, James Murphy (Yvonne) of Timonium, MD and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father James Murphy, mother Barbara Murphy and sisters Pat and Barbara.
We would like to thank Ranson Ridge Assisted Living for their loving care and Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Aldersgate for their compassion.
Funeral services will be held in North Fort Myers, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mission Ukraine Children’s Hope, 488 Hiatts Dr. Greensboro, NC 27455, or Hospice & Palliative Care, Charlotte region.
