Margaret W. Sherrill's Obituary
Margaret Aline Wilhelm Sherrill, 92, of Huntersville passed away on September 27, 2020 at Autumn Care Cornelius. Margaret was preceeded in death by her husband, Wilbur Grey Sherrill, 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
She is survived by her children Brenda Moore of Davidson, Gary Sherrill and his wife Laine of Huntersville, Marla Willis of Mooresville and Scott Sherrill and his wife, Judy of Mt Mourne. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and her youngest sister, Viki Wilhelm Hager of Huntersville.
Margaret was born November 30, 1927 to the late John Alexander and Ethel Stanley Wilhelm. She was a lifelong resident of Huntersville, NC.
Margaret will be remembered by her family and friends for her love to cook and serve great food. She spent many years working in food service as a waitress and cashier at several local restaurants including Dogwood, Wilkins BBQ, and the Lakehouse. At home, with no advance notice, she could prepare and serve a delicious feast for anyone who came hungry and the more the merrier was her motto!
The family would like to thank everyone who has been on staff at Autumn Care Cornelius over the past 4 years. The loving care that has been showered on her there has been amazing and a real blessing! A special thank you to Ms. Jeanne Cherry for being a loving, attentive roommate.
Margaret’s family will celebrate her life with a graveside service at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Cornelius at 10 am Wednesday, September 30.
