Margie Christian's Obituary
With profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother Margie Nell Swaim Christian on February 10, 2022. She was born September 30, 1932, to Vance and Virginia Swaim of Pleasant Garden, N. C. Mother always took pride in being a “Daddy’s Girl”. She was predeceased by her husband-Carl (Chris) Christian along with her brother Bill Swaim (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), Sister-Joann Gunnell (Germanton, NC), Sister-Ruth Waller (Pleasant Garden, NC) and Sister-Vicky Rivenburg (Reidsville, NC). Margie is survived by her two daughters Donna Mason (NC), Sharon Enenbach (GA), and two sons Warren May (GA) and Arthur May (NJ), along with numerous grandchildren.
Mom retired from P. Lorillard after working tirelessly for 35 years while raising her children. She was a self-sacrificing, bighearted, generous, caring, loving mother with a selfless heart. With all her sisters and mother rallying together in the kitchen, they prepared many delicious country meals. She was a devoted caretaker to her husband and mother when they both became ill and needed care at the same time, but she never complained and did what had to be done. Mom’s fulfillment came from reading scripture and serving the Lord. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee with her siblings, working crossword puzzles, feeding the birds, and learning about the different species. Her favorite flower was the yellow Rose.
While living independently in Greensboro, she was lovingly and diligently cared for by her best friend and daughter Donna. When her health condition made it impossible for her to live alone, Donna moved Margie into her home in Charlotte to care for her on a daily basis. Margie enjoyed the frequent visits and phone calls from her daughter and sons. In addition, Rocky, Donna’s Yorkie brought joy to Margie’s days.
Her passing has left a huge hole in our hearts that can never be filled! Mom will forever be in our hearts and tremendously missed!
At her request there will be no service. Any donations should be made to ASPCA of the United States.
