Maria Claudia Rebori's Obituary
Maria Claudia Sanguineti Rebori, 89, of Huntersville, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 peacefully, surrounded by family and as she had predicted, without wrinkles, at Olde Knox Commons skilled nursing facility.
Born July 10, 1925 in Chiavari (Genoa) Italy, Mrs. Rebori was the second of four daughters of the late Alfredo Sanguineti and Bianca Marre Sanguineti. She lived in Italy throughout World War II. In 1947 she met her husband, Colonel John Nicholas Rebori, Sr., a first generation American and son of a friend of the Marre family, while he was visiting family in Italy. They were married September 27, 1950 in Chiavari and made their home in Knoxville, TN. They were members of Sacred Heart Cathedral. Mrs. Rebori attended The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, receiving a BS in Psychology. In her later years she enjoyed travelling with her husband, a retired TVA executive and volunteer for the International Executive Service Corps, while they served in the Dominican Republic and Zimbabwe.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter-in-law Nannette Divine Rebori. She is survived by her children: John Nicholas Rebori, Jr. and Anthony Rebori of Knoxville, TN, Anna Rebori Davis and husband Kevin J. Davis of Cornelius, NC, Stephen Rebori of Los Angeles, CA, grandchildren: Rachele Rebori Potter of Chattanooga, TN, John Nicholas Rebori, III, Leigh Rebori Chadwick and Antonia Rebori of Knoxville, TN, Elizabeth Davis and John C. Davis of Cornelius, NC and sisters: Giovanna Sanguineti Amadeo, Angela Sanguineti Amadeo and Margherita Sanguineti Dellepiane, of Genoa, Italy.
The family would like to express gratitude to the staff of Olde Knox Commons, Huntersville, NC and Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman for the extraordinary care provided to Mrs. Rebori.
