Marion Rodney Freeman's Obituary
Marion Rodney Freeman, 87, of Huntersville, NC died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Harper, KS on November 23, 1926 to George W. Freeman and Vida L. Wright. He married M. Gaynell Ward “Gay”, August 1952 in Charleston, SC. After marriage they spent most of their lives in Denver, CO where he retired from The Denver Post. In 2004 they moved to Huntersville, NC to be closer to their daughter and son-in-law.
He will be missed by many but especially by his wife Gay, his daughter Lynette Elizabeth and son-in-law Michael Y. C. Mow; granddaughter Kathryn Anne and husband Alan Letterman; 3 great grandchildren Ian, Weylin and Annaliese.
A Memorial service will be held at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 10500 Beatties Ford Road, Huntersville, NC on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 3:00 PM. Following the Memorial service the family will receive friends at a reception that will be held in the church Family Life Center.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Hopewell Presbyterian Church or Levine Dickson Hospice House 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
