Marjorie Muriel Petherbridge Alexander's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the children of Marjorie Muriel Petherbridge Alexander, age 78, of Davidson, announces the passing of their mother on Thursday, February 7, 2019.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA., the daughter of the late Henry W. and Hilda Pooler Petherbridge. Marjorie was a beautiful woman inside and out and loved her family deeply. She was a talented crocheter and enjoyed reading, bird watching and a good thunderstorm. Throughout the years she gave help, guidance and counsel to many and was loved and respected by all who knew her.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, John M. Alexander, Sr. of Huntersville, children, John M. Alexander, Jr. of Statesville, Patricia A. Menges and her husband, J.D. of Huntersville, Elizabeth “Marie” Politowicz and her husband, Lou of Cornelius, and George “Lee” Alexander and his wife, Heidi of Huntersville; six grandchildren, Jessica Treadaway, Nicholas Politowicz and his wife, Lindsey, Kayla Birkey and her husband, Josh, Alexander Politowicz, John-Michael Alexander and Joshua Alexander; one great grandson, Emerson Politowicz; siblings, John Petherbridge and his wife, Pat of Jacksonville, FL and Robert Petherbridge of Philadelphia, PA and a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM, Thursday, February 14, 2019 in the Chapel of James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Drive. A graveside will follow at 12:00 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church.
