Mark Holland's Obituary
Mark Holland, 69, of Huntersville, passed away on May 17, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on March 14, 1956, in Albany, NY to the late Thomas and Ellen Holland.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Darlene Holland, who was the love of his life and constant companion. He was a proud and loving father to his daughters: Jennifer Moore and her husband Aaron of Rochester, NY; Nicole Donald and her husband Jamie of Huntersville; and Diny Christian and her husband Dave of Huntersville. He was the cherished Papa to his five grandchildren — Connor, Austin, Logan, Charlie, and Avery — who brought him endless joy and laughter. Mark was one of six siblings and remained close with each of them throughout his life: Lynn and her husband Jerry, Tom and his wife Gloria, Judy and her husband Rocky, Dean and his wife Teri, and Kris and her husband Erich.
His family was the center of his world, and he poured his heart into every role he held — husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His best friends since childhood, Sandy and Ray Demarco and Pete Varlan, are chosen family members. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He shared a special bond with Tyler Graves and many other children, all of whom cherished their Papa. Mark formed lasting relationships with many loved ones, all of whom will miss him dearly and send him a "chubby cheek, honk honk".
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, May 25 at James Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A reception will immediately follow the service at Magnolia Woods located at 12125 Statesville Rd, Huntersville NC 28078.
