Paul, I don't know if you remember me, but I came to the church in Charlotte when it was Craig Avenue ARP and sang in the choir. I remember Martha's sweet personality. It was a joy to see you both. May God comfort you in this difficult time. Love in Him, Abby Claar

My heart skipped a beat when I heard of Martha’s passing. Paul, we send our sympathy and love. The shock of losing her is overwhelming and leaves behind a tremendous void. We will miss her bright smile and the way she treated everyone “as if they were the only one”.

I am blessed having Martha as a BFF for 61 years. It started at Chamblee High School and did not end until her death on her Dad's birthday. The fun and fond memories in between those years included many school antics, being in each other's wedding, travels, visits to her and Paul's homes in New Canaan, CT and Charlotte, NC while staying up in wee hours of the morning talking and laughing and the list goes on. Oh, by the way, all these happenings were with our other BFF, Becky. The three of us could not be separated or stopped if there was fun and laughter around. A bright star is shining down from heaven on all of us and it is Martha and her hat and gorgeous smile watching us through the rest of our lives and smiling. Mouse will be missed and always in our hearts. Beck and I will see her in heaven.

Dear Paul, It will take us all a long time to, if ever, not grieve over the loss of our dear friend and your beautiful wife with whom we all have very fond memories. Though she may not be here with us we do have the blessing of her memory and the times we spent together over the years. She was irreplaceable. You were a very lucky man and we will miss her but never forget the memories.
