Marvin Epperson's Obituary
A much loved husband, father, grandfather, and son, Marvin G Epperson, of Sherrills Ford, NC , went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a short battle of cancer. He was surrounded by his family at his home on Saturday, November 16th. Marv was born on November 7, 1934 in Marshall, MO to the late Jasper and Ollie Epperson.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Edna Epperson, his children, Tracy Curtis and husband Art, Kim Walsh and husband Dave, and Dana Kline. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Drew and Connor Walsh, Tripp and Lexi Curtis, and Taylor and Brittany Kline.
Marv served in the United States Navy from 1952-1955, including a tour in the Korean War . He was a 1960 graduate of Thunderbird University, in Scottsdale, AZ, and began a career in International Business. He traveled extensively during his career in the tire industry. After completion of that career, he settled in Lee’s Summit Missouri, and purchased a company called Arrowhead Business Machines. He retired in 1992 and moved to Long Boat Key, FL.
Marv loved the Lord and was a true example of Christ’s love. He was a genuine family man who loved his wife, 3 daughters, and 6 grandchildren more than anything else. He was an incredibly intelligent and wise man who gave freely of his talent to others, He loved boating, spending time with his family and was a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan.
The visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Monday November 18th at the Rehobeth United Methodist Church, funeral immediately following at 11:00.
