Mary Ballard's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Vaughn New Ballard, 101, of Winston Salem, NC, passed away on December 15, 2023, living the majority of her life in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born on July 6, 1922. Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mary was a woman of strong faith and found solace in her connection with God.
Mary was known for her hugs, and kisses. She had a warm and inviting personality, always ready to engage in conversation, often punctuating her stories with the phrase, "well anyway." Her genuine interest in others made her a cherished presence in the lives of her family and friends.
Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Penny, and son-in-law, Budman. She was also a doting grandmother to Tesa, Amber, Jamie, Beth, Donald, Janet, and Jennifer, as well as a great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Jennings, her son, CJ, and her daughter, Connie. Their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved Mary.
In honoring Mary's life, we celebrate her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her warm and compassionate nature. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Mary's life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Mulberry Baptist Church of Charlotte in Mary's memory.
