Mary Barker was more than just my neighbor—she was a cornerstone of our community. I’ll always cherish the moments we shared: sipping wine by the fire pit, trading cocktails and appetizers, and catching up during neighborhood gatherings.
When we first moved in, our yard was bare. But one afternoon, returning from an errand, we were surprised and touched to find hostas planted in our front garden—gifts from Mary’s own backyard. Those plants still grow today, a living reminder of her kindness.
We often cooked for one another and swapped recipes and tips, turning everyday meals into small acts of friendship.
Mary’s presence will be deeply missed, but the memories we made will remain a lasting comfort.
