She felt a great sense of ownership of the school and was happiest when she was serving as hostess to the teachers, bringing goodies for them to put out in the Teachers’ Lounge or alerting everyone when someone had brought in homemade goodies. Sister and I worked together at Cornelius Elementary. We butted heads on occasion but I quickly realized she was a gift for the school, students, community, parents and me. She went beyond expectations to make sure all the children had what they needed, especially if the children were going on a field trip. I was so sad to hear of her passing. She will always have a special place in my heart.
