Mary Dennison's Obituary
Mary Dennison, 81, of Charlotte, died on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. She was born on September 10, 1939, in West Virginia.
Mary was a homemaker and grandmother to any kid that needed it. She never met a stranger. Somehow she always found those children that needed a little extra love in their life. Most of her jobs were for single mothers and there were times she didn’t get paid and if she did, she ended spending the money on the children to feed them, buy them clothes and toys. Most of the children called her grandma. What most would remember about her is she was the most giving, selfless person they had ever met.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband Phil Dennison and her brother, Henry James.
She is survived by her children, Barb Helmling (Robert), Renee Overcash (Paul), John Varga (Chris), Jim Varga (Michelle), Rita Zorn, and Linda Jones (Robert); 16 grandchildren; Amanda, Emily, Melissa, Ashley, John Michael, Mitchell, Micky, Zachary, Megan, Chad, Sam, Sydney, Andee Lynn, Derek, Maddie, Haley, and 11 great grandchildren and 2 on the way and sisters, Sharon James and Marlene Baker.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, May 24, 1:00pm, at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 4100 David Cox Rd, Charlotte, NC. 28269
James Funeral Home, of Huntersville, is serving the family.
