Mary Elaine Faires' Obituary
Mary Elaine Faires, 68, of Huntersville died Sunday, August 22, 2021 at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House. Elaine was born on October 13, 1952 in Mecklenburg County to Margie Faires and the late Maurice Faires.
Elaine accepted Christ at a young age at Sugar Creek Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC. She was currently attending Independence Hill Baptist Church in Huntersville. Elaine retired from Concrete Supply after 41 years of service. She devoted her years after retirement to caring for her mother, Margie. Margie and Elaine took many adventures together and enjoyed playing cards. Elaine enjoyed traveling and taking day trips to the mountains, reading, photography and tracing her family’s genealogy.
Elaine absolutely adored her nieces, Emily & Megan, and nephew, Adam. She was their second mother and they loved and adored her too.
In addition to her mother, survivors include sister, Elizabeth (Libby) Gant and her husband Richard, nieces Emily Trotter (Austin), Megan Hager (Jared) and nephew Adam Gant. Great nieces Bailey Faith & Ava Grace Trotter and Emberlee Elizabeth Hager and great nephew Davis Laine Hager. Special cousin Debra Payseur.
Memorials may be made to Independence Hill Baptist Church.
The visitation will be at the Independence Hill Baptist Church Worship Center from 10 to 11:00. The funeral will follow at 11:00 Monday, August 30, 2021 in the church chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West.
