Mary Susan (Erlewine) Handrick
July 9, 1970 – January 22, 2011
Susan Handrick, 40, of Charlotte, NC, died January 22, 2011 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC after a long battle with cancer. She was born July 9, 1970 in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of Robert and Donna (McGillivray) Erlewine. Susan was a graduate of The Ohio State University and Dominican University with degrees in History and a Master’s in Library Science. She worked for 11 years as a librarian in a variety of settings and finished her career at St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, VA.
Susan is survived by her loving husband Mark C. Handrick and her two children Jackson and Leah Handrick. She is also survived by her father Robert Erlewine; her mother-in-law Marlene (Lemmer) Handrick; her brother Dale Erlewine; two sisters Kristi (Don Hiller) Erlewine and Kari (Doug Cooper) Erlewine; her brother-in-law Patrick Handrick; two sisters-in-law Karen (Dennis) Literski and Karla (Jon) Warnke; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother Donna (McGillivray) Erlewine.
A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Lawrenceville Community Church in Springfield, Ohio with Rev. Art Thibeault officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
