Matthew John Hoysa, Junior, of Cornelius, passed away October 8th at home peacefully with family at his side. He was a strong, courageous gentleman who battled cancer for 14 years before joining His Lord and Savior. He was born Au Read Obituary
Mattwas a friend for many years. He leaves a huge hole in the life of everyone he befriended. His suffering is ended any he is surely at peace in the Kingdom of Our Lord. Matt was well read, a listener; and my instructor in trap, skeet, and sporting clay shooting. He is a truly good person who spread is wonderful humor "like manure over a field." (That's one of Matts' many witticisms.) I miss him and will keep him in my mind and prayers.
I was very sad to learn about Matt's passing. We certainly had some wonderful times fishing together in South Florida and that special trip to Colombia, S.A. The fishing club still is alive and well but they gave up the clubhouse and now use the American Legion's clubhouse in Perrine for meetings and dinners once a week (no rent but they pay for dinners out of the kitchen there, a good deal). They had insufficient membership to to keep up with the rent where they used to meet. I wish you and your family all the best in the future. You are special people. Jim Stoker
