Maxine H. Brown's Obituary
Maxine Henderson Brown, 83, of Huntersville, passed away February 18 at Lake Park Nursing Home in Indian Trail. She was born on March 18, 1933 in Huntersville, NC to the late Frank and Lola Sherrill-Henderson and was married to the late Arthur Clontz “A.C.” Brown in 1958. Maxine was a lifelong choir member serving at Bethel Presbyterian and Huntersville Presbyterian. She enjoyed singing at family gatherings and sang solo at many funerals, weddings and social events.
Survivors include her daughter, Velma Jane Killman and son Alan Brown (Jan); grandchildren, Maggie Killman King (Daras), Nikki Killman Shugart (Joel) and Wendy Brown Goudelock (James), Kerrie Colvin (Ray), Danielle Wilson (Toby), Tim Kilpatrick; great-grandchildren, Sam Killman, Ella King, Phillip and Noah Shugart, Lexi and Kaden Goudelock, John Colvin, Jordan Colvin and Lyssa Kilpatrick; brother, Robert Henderson (Dru), sisters; Harriett Henderson Grant (Spencer) and Shirley Henderson Munnerlyn (Lawrence).
The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Friday, February 24 at James Funeral Home with the funeral at 11:00 at James Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bethel Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Charlotte, 1420 E. 7th St. Charlotte, NC 28204.
