Maxine Price's Obituary
Maxine Vivian Pinyan Price of Charlotte entered Heaven on April 4, 2016.
Maxine was one of 13 children born into the family of John Sherman Pinyan and Lodie Sowers Pinyan on August 10, 1929. She graduated from Derita High School in 1948 and later that year married Fred M. Price (deceased 1984).
She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and is survived by three children: G. Michael Price (Sheila) of Linwood, Rita Stokes of Cornelius, Sherry Giddens of Sylacauga, AL; two Grandchildren: Jason Stokes (Amber), Katy Stokes Whittlesey (Kyle); One Great Grandchild (Autumn); Brothers: Earl Pinyan, A.G. Pinyan, Buck Pinyan; Sisters: Ethel Wilson, Dixie Kendall, Alma Horne, and Ann Stone. She was preceded in death by her siblings, John Sherman Pinyan, II, Pheanis Pinyan, Patrick Pinyan, Floyd Pinyan, and Louise Rich.
She grew up during the Great depression years and was very proud of her family, especially her brothers who had served during World War II.
She lived in the Derita/Nevin community until the past several years; thereafter she resided at Brookdale Concord Place, and later at Genesis Mooresville Center.
Maxine was very active in her church and Christian faith. She also enjoyed gardening, helping raise her Grandchildren, being a homemaker; and, was by far the world’s best cook! She enjoyed visiting with family and friends - always having a fresh pot of coffee and food waiting for them when they came to visit. She shared her testimony with everyone that she came in contact with, even until her last day here on earth. The old hymn “Oh how I love Jesus” must have been written for her to sing and to share with others.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Hospice in her honor.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 6 at Sharon Memorial Park with Rev. Harold Hudson officiating.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family. www.jamesfuneralhomeLKN.com
