Michael R. Dennis' Obituary
November 30, 1974 – December 2, 2022
Davidson NC
On Friday December 2nd 2022, Michael Ryan Dennis, succumbed to health related illnesses he had been battling for the past three years.
Ryan was born November 30th, 1974 in Newport News Virginia to Betty and Carroll Dennis. Ryan grew up in Northern Virginia where he was an exceptional student, athlete, and had many friends. He attended James Madison University where he graduated with honors with a BS in Business Administration and was a proud member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. Ryan’s life at James Madison provided him with greater exposure to nature and he became an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, driving off-road in his Jeep, and last but not least, Black Labrador retrievers.
After graduation Ryan relocated to Charlotte NC where he worked most recently as an IT Project Manager for Bank of America, over a nearly 20 year career. During this time Ryan married and had two daughters who were the loves of his life. He loved being a father and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experiences teaching them to play sports, ride bikes, fish, camp and enjoy the simpler things in life.
If you were a work colleague, neighbor, friend, fraternity brother, or relative you were part of his family. As part of his family there wasn’t anything Ryan wouldn’t do for you, including giving you the shirt off of his back. It is difficult to say goodbye to family. There is no other way to say this other than, he will be truly missed.
Ryan is predeceased by his mother Betty Stewart Dennis and nephew Patrick Jefferson Dennis. He is survived by his daughters: Maren and Callie Dennis, father: Carroll Dennis, brothers: Britt (Susan) Dennis and Todd (Christi) Dennis, sister: Andrea Dennis DuFour, and nieces: Kathryn, Natalie, and Jessica Dennis; Aunts: Janet Stewart Sommer, Crystal Virgo Stewart, Grace Foster Dennis, Laura Dennis Brown, Uncles: Steven Charles Rose, cousins: AV Cullum, Andy Brown, Christopher & Nicholas Rose, Heather Rose Overvold, Jay, Scott, and Beth Dennis.
