Michael J. Dunn's Obituary
Michael James “Mike” Dunn, 73, of Huntersville went to be with the Lord April 26, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. Mike was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Frank and Helen Dunn. Mike served in the U.S. Air Force. He spent his career as a nuclear engineer. Mike was an elder at Huntersville A.R.P. Church, where he faithfully served his Lord Jesus Christ. He had a great heart for missions and seeing the gospel spread to the ends of the earth. He believed his greatest accomplishments in life were marrying Edie and raising his two sons, Steven and John. Mike loved traveling with Edie and his favorite places were Italy, Alaska and Antarctica.
Survivors include his wife, Edie Durham Dunn; sons, Steven Dunn and wife Stephanie of Alpharetta, GA and John Dunn and wife Jill of McLean, VA; sister-in-law, April; and grandchildren, Erica, Hayden, Evan and Catherine.
Memorials may be made to Huntersville A.R.P. Church, P.O. Box 316, Huntersville, NC 28070.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Wednesday, April 28 at James Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Thursday at Huntersville A.R.P. Church. A private burial will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery. Rev. Lee Shelnutt will officiate the service.
