Michael Hardee's Obituary
Michael E. Hardee, 67, of Charlotte died August 28, 2024 at his home. He was born on August 4, 1957 in Savannah, GA to the late Frederick and Faye Hardee.
After high school Michael was employed as a craftsman at Wilmington Cabinet on Wilmington Island until he relocated to Charlotte NC in 2010 to be near family. Michael’s biggest talent was continuously making new friends and maintaining life-time friendships with most of his early childhood friends. Michael was an avid enthusiast of both college & professional sports. He also had a knack for photography and his photos showed talent. Michael was always kind, compassionate and caring. Michael was a great “listener.” His most common phrase during conversations was “I hear you” and he really did hear you. He was loved and cherished by many and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his sister Patricia Hardee Drury and her husband George of Charlotte. Nephews Brian Summerell of Statesville, NC, Corey Summerell of Savannah, GA. Niece Ann Marie Coverly of Riverton, NJ. Great-Nephews Graham Summerell of Statesville, NC and Parsons Summerell of Savannah, GA. Great-Nieces Helen Summerell of Statesville, NC and Liza Summerell of Savannah, GA. Cousin Karen Samulak of Lakeland, FL. He was preceded in death by brother Frederick Hardee, Jr.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 10 AM Thursday, September 5 at James Funeral Home with visitation following service.
