We met Mike when he began dating Kathy. Throughout their courtship and following their marriage we were close friends, and though separated by miles and years, we continued to stay in touch. Mike was a devoted husband to Kathy, a loving father and grandfather, and devout in his faith. He cared deeply about people. He always had a story to share, and laugh and a smile. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Mike.

I met Mike the middle of August 1967 when I came to the seminary at Mt. Angel Abbey. We became friends. We had a love of history. We both entered Mount Angel Abbey as novices in 1969. He did not make vows and went on to meet and marry Kathleen. I was his best man at their wedding in 1973. We went Europe together in 1969 prior to entering the Abbey and had quite a trip!! I enjoyed our friendship throughout these 55 years. After he left, as is to be expected with two people not sharing a common life, there was some distance, but we seemed to reconnect always. He asked me to bury his sister. I was blessed by knowing him and having him in my life. The stories I could tell!! May you rest in peace, Brother Laccinole!! Fidelium animae, per misericordiam Dei, requiescat in pace! Amen.

I knew Mike during four years (1963-1967) at Mt. Angel Seminary High School. We lived on a hilltop campus operated by the Benedictine monks. It was a boarding school and we were a relatively small class, so we got to know each other well.

I remember Mike excelling in his relationships with other seminarians and the priest/professors. Mike found a niche as director of recreation for the high school class. and he took his role seriously to make us laugh, often during times of difficulty. Everyone seemed to appreciate Mike's efforts.

I didn't remain in touch with Mike afterwards; we went our own ways but in a friendly way. I remember him as a big-hearted man with a quick smile and laugh. I appreciate that I knew him and became friends with him. My deep condolences to his family and circle of friends.

I knew Mr. Laccinole through working with his son, Gregory. Mr. Laccinole was an amazing advocate for his son and had a huge heart! Although I was in a role to support them, he gave me great speech advice for my nephew. He and Mrs. Laccinole have always been a joy to speak with. I am praying for and thinking of you all.
