Michael Peter Giannaccini,'s Obituary
Michael (Mickey) Peter Giannaccini Sr., 72, died at 7:25 am Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from complications arising from heart surgery. Mickey was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Angelo and Dolly (Franzoni) Giannaccini. Mickey was a proud graduate of Calvert Hall College High School and Baltimore Junior College in Baltimore, Maryland.
Mickey will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Iris. The loss will also be felt by their son Michael Jr. and his wife Lori, and their son Michael III, their daughter Stacey and her husband Jeff, and their children Victoria and Nate, their daughter Nikki and her husband Nat, and their son Griffin, and his beloved dog, Roxie as well as many friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
In his early professional career, Mickey worked for BF Goodrich in Baltimore, MD and Nashua, New Hampshire before buying and operating A. Brown Auto and Home Stores in Vermont. In 1994, Mickey and Iris moved to sunny Florida where they bought and operated Dr. Vinyl of South Florida. In 2009 they decided to move to Cornelius, NC to be closer to two of their children and grandchildren.
In addition to being a loving husband and father, Mickey was an avid road cyclist who has biked over 30,000 miles. Mickey also took great pride in being Vice President and Treasurer of the Antiquity Home Owners Association where he had a large impact on the success of that development.
A gathering will be held to celebrate Mickey’s life on Sunday, September 11 in North Carolina.
