Mike was one of our dearest friends and a special neighbor. Always the gracious host. His dedication to helping others during his long illustrious career epitomizes who he really was. His love of country and the military attest to what a true Patriot Mike really was in life.

Karen, We have so many fond memories of our time spent with you and Mike. Leon keeps waiting for Mike to come across the lawn to join him in a Manhattan on our back deck. We miss him greatly. Memories count.

May he rest in eternal peace.

Mike was a generous sweet friend who never let his abilities and outstanding knowledge color the way he treated someone. I was lucky enough to visit him and Karen many times with a few other women. He had a way of making each of us feel vey welcome and very special. He was also very thoughtful, even bringing little gifts to our dog.
Mike enjoyed trying his luck to outwit various types of fish whether casting in the surf, out with a guide along the Carolina coastal waters, or one of his favorites, fly fishing in the No. Carolina or Tennesse mountain rivers for trout. On one of the river trips he hooked into a beautiful rainbow trout that gave him quite an exciting battle. We talked about that quite a bit, sometimes with an Old Fashion cocktail.
Karen, we are so very sorry for your loss. The world was a much better place with Mike in it. He will be greatly missed.

Karen and Mike made our lives happier and fuller when we were together from our first playdate through our last travels together. Mike was a constant surprise with the breadth of his knowledge and his tidbits of useless information that always seemed so important. He was so amazingly bright yet unassuming and so generous to those in need. I am proud to say he was a true friend who will be in my memory forever.

Dearest Karen,
I am so sorry for your pain. Although I knew Mike’s death was immanent, still it came as a shock. Lost…..another friend, but one who’s memories for me are of a sweet, wonderful man, filled with deep, unanswerable questions about life and how to make it better for all who live….and of his love for his marvelous wife, Karen. I’m glad you had him with you for as long as you did.
Karen, i wish you well with joy of family, and happy memories of Mike.
