Michelle Pratt's Obituary
Michelle Vogelbacher Pratt, of Charlotte NC, age 46, died on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, after a long, courageous and fierce battle with
cholangiocarcinoma. Michelle is survived by her husband, Darren W. Pratt, and son,Harry Alexander “Alex” Pratt and daughter, Victoria “Tori” Fay Pratt. She was guardian to Jesfrell Wilkes, also of the home. Michelle is also survived by her parents, Joseph J. Vogelbacher and E. Fay Foster, brothers, Robert John Vogelbacher (wife Jennifer) and Joseph Clayton Vogelbacher (wife Lael). She was daughter in law to Harry O. Pratt, (wife Rochelle), granddaughter to Charlotte Greenwald and sister in law to Renee Pratt Bradley (husband Mark). Michelle loved her ten nieces and nephews, Nicole, Samantha, Zachary, Charles, Lillian, Levi, Veronica, Lincoln, Nicholas and Charlotte. She had a multitude of close friends and colleagues including her dear friend, Keshia Pettus and Goddaughter, Chrisette Farris.
Michelle and her family attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was employed by the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Hospital in Salisbury as a Family Nurse Practitioner on the hospitalist service. Michelle was an active member of the Shared Governance Council, as well as a leader in the Advanced Practice Nursing community at the Salisbury VA. Michelle also served on the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation board as a Provider/Patient advocate.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1400 Suther Rd., Charlotte NC 28213 with Monsignor West officiating. At 4:00 pm a reception will be held for all family and friends at the church hall.
Michelle requested that this be a celebration of life and colorful attire be worn by all.
Flowers may be delivered directly to the church or in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to www.cholangiocarcinoma.org or www.targetcancerfoundation.org in honor of Michelle.
