Mike Amaris Malanda II's Obituary
Mike Malanda departed this earthly life on June 8th at the age of 12 years old, but his family is confident he is alive with the Lord in heaven.
Mike was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, to parents Mike and Amie. He was beloved by all who met him. He was known for being kind, loving, and a leader in his friendships and community. He attended Lake Norman Charter School and was a member of the lacrosse team Lake Norman Outlaws. Mike was a leader in his community, evidenced by his love of giving motivational speeches to inspire those around him and his involvement with Youth Commission International Club, Positivity Club, 704 Bike Life, and his role serving with children at his home church, Mecklenburg Community Church.
Mike had a passion for people, especially kids, who he volunteered with often. Mike was also passionate about biking and even dreamed of becoming a mechanic and growing his business, M&P Auto Detailing. Mike will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of being in his community.
Mike is survived by his parents, Mike Malanda and Amie La-Sharonda Malanda, Grandparents, Marie Nzinga, Jean Makiona, Kenneth and Loreen Gatewood, Carla Douglas, brother Tiger Mukendi, godsister, Kennedy Marie Harris, Aunts, Lucie Bunsana, Laure Makiona, Bijoux Nsolani and Uncles, Bienvenu Makiona, Allen Malanda, Joe Malanda, Altoe Wallace and Allen Wallace.
Mike is preceded in death by great-grandparents Maurice Malanda, Madeleine Mpula, and Allen Wallace.
Visitation/Viewing will be open to the public and held on June 20, 2025, 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at
James Funeral Home
