Mildred Elois Taylor's Obituary
Mrs. Mildred Elois Taylor, 85, of Charlotte, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 18, 2016.
Mildred had been a member of Northside Baptist Church since 1970. She was a member of the Eagles Senior Adult Sunday School Class and The Jolly 60s. She crocheted prayer shawls, lap blankets and skull caps and started a weekly card ministry for sick church members. Mildred was in the church nursery every Sunday for 25 years and was instrumental in coordinating the staff. She was retired from Carolinas Medical Center Mercy at the age of 79 with 39 ½ years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, working, cooking, mountain trips, and most of all loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Eather and Dovie Kerr, and a brother, James Kerr.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her son, Terry Wayne Taylor (Joyce) of Rock Hill, SC, daughter, Pamela Taylor Howell (Phillip) of Denver, sister-in-law, Laurye Kerr of Roscoe, IL, grandchildren; Kevin Wayne Taylor, Kimberly Taylor Black (Eric), Bethany Howell Brant, Brent Howell, Becky Howell, great-grandchildren; Ella Taylor, Jalyn West, Hailey Brant, Sophia Sanders, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:30 p.m. Friday, September 23 at Northside Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. John Johnson and Rev. Ed Propst officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens.
