Mildred Hamilton's Obituary
Mildred Ann Brooks Hamilton, 98, passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2025. She was born on March 31, 1927, in Murphy, NC, the daughter of the late Pearlie and Ruby Arrowood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Louis Arrowood; her son, Michael Brooks; her granddaughter, Shelly Brooks; and her husbands, John Brooks and Hugh Hamilton.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, Sherry Brooks of Huntersville, NC, and Sheila (Bernard) Reid of Royal Palm Beach, FL; her daughter-in-law, Florence Brooks; grandchildren Steven Brooks (Tonya), Michell Jones (Chris), and Matthew Blythe (Megan); step-grandchildren Stephanie Brooks (Chris) and Keshia Reid; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and her much-loved Ann Brooks Conner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A graveside will be held at 10 am Wednesday, September 3 at Northlake Memorial Gardens.
